Prominent South Wales Recruitment Group Appoints CCO to Drive International Expansion

Conexus DX , the South Wales based digital transformation recruitment specialist has agreed a share exchange with its parent company the Recolution Group. As part of the deal, Conexus becomes a wholly owned subsidiary of the group while founder Connor Wall joins the group board as a partner and Chief Commercial Officer. The Recolution Group was founded by Dale Williams and includes Yolk Recruitment , Meritus Talent and City Executive Search among its brands. Supplying staff to a diverse customer base on a global basis, the group is known for staffing projects on 5 continents and has a roster of public and private sector clientele.

Speaking of the deal, Dale Williams said,

"In early 2019, Connor came to me with a vision of establishing a Digital Transformation recruitment brand that could compete on the world stage—from Cardiff. His ambition was infectious, and I instantly knew that our combined skillsets could create something special. Fast forward 5 years and we have built a brand in Conexus that generates a turnover of more than 5 million a year, with clients that include household names such as Pwc, Deloitte and SAP. This deal was a natural and organic move which takes us from a Joint Venture model to a partner-owned group entity, and ensures that the benefits of a group vision can be felt by our core brands. I am delighted to be able to welcome Connor to the group in his new role as CCO as he focusses on fuelling our contract growth and international footprint. Connor will remain the Global MD of Conexus and the business will continue to operate in the same way as has made it successful to now."

In completing the deal, Connor Wall added,

"When Dale and I started Conexus, I couldn’t have foreseen the challenges and opportunities that would present themselves while pursuing our lofty ambitions. This included the lows of a global lockdown in our first year of business, to the highs of being recognised globally as an entrepreneur of the year in 2024. The Recolution Group and its shareholders were advised on the deal by dealmaking business GS Verde Group . Matt Sutton, Director said,

Welsh recruitment company Recolution Group have announced a change of leadership at board level which sees founding director Duncan Powell exit the business after 15 years of service.

The Recolution Group is one of the UK’s fastest growing independently owned recruitment companies and is well known both within the UK and its wider European markets. Their brands include Yolk Recruitment , City Executive Search , Conexus DX and Meritus Talent . Founded by co-founders Dale Williams and Duncan Powell in 2009, the group has historically concentrated on permanent recruitment and has grown annually year on year to a 20million pound turnover company. In recent years, the group has accelerated growth within its rapidly growing European contract arm which has created the foundations to reach 50 million revenues by 2029.

On exiting the business, Duncan Powell said:

“In 2009, Dale and I set out to shake up the recruitment industry by establishing our first brand: Yolk Recruitment. For 15 years, we overcame every obstacle that came our way including the financial crisis, geo-political and economic volatility and of course Covid. I am extremely proud to be able to exit the business at its strongest point in history and leave knowing that the group is in expert hands."

On introducing the terms of the management buy-in and Mr Powells exit, Founder and CEO Dale Williams said:

“After 15 years in business with my founding partner and friend, we move onto a new chapter in our ever-evolving growth story. For the past 3 years, Pavan Arora in his role as MD of Yolk Recruitment has excelled in establishing a formidable structure to take us to new heights and I am delighted to welcome him into the role of Chief Operating Officer for our Group. Kevin Evans, CFO, has been with the group for 10 years and has been influential in establishing the financial rigour and governance required to underpin our growth aspirations. New partnership to scale up on digital talent in Welsh public sector

The Centre for Digital Public Services (CDPS) has announced a new partnership with Cardiff-based Yolk Recruitment . The collaboration aims to enable public sector organisations in Wales to fill critical digital, data and technology (DDaT) roles and provide them with specialist advice and support.

With a potential value of £15 million over 3 years , the agreement is expected to play a key role in facilitating the transition to modern public services that meet the needs and expectations of the users across a variety of sectors, including local government, education and health.

Welcoming the new partnership, Joint CEO of CDPS, Myra Hunt, said:

“We're excited to welcome Yolk on board as our strategic partner. By working together we hope to increase the pool of talent and increase the number of appropriately digital skilled people delivering public services in Wales.

“We're confident that by working together, we'll be able to develop a modern public sector in Wales that delivers services people can access in a way which suits their needs.”
