Prominent South Wales Recruitment Group Appoints CCO to Drive International Expansion

Conexus DX, the South Wales based digital transformation recruitment specialist has agreed a share exchange with its parent company the Recolution Group. As part of the deal, Conexus becomes a wholly owned subsidiary of the group while founder Connor Wall joins the group board as a partner and Chief Commercial Officer. The Recolution Group was founded by Dale Williams and includes Yolk Recruitment, Meritus Talent and City Executive Search among its brands. Supplying staff to a diverse customer base on a global basis, the group is known for staffing projects on 5 continents and has a roster of public and private sector clientele.

Speaking of the deal, Dale Williams said,

"In early 2019, Connor came to me with a vision of establishing a Digital Transformation recruitment brand that could compete on the world stage—from Cardiff. His ambition was infectious, and I instantly knew that our combined skillsets could create something special. Fast forward 5 years and we have built a brand in Conexus that generates a turnover of more than 5 million a year, with clients that include household names such as Pwc, Deloitte and SAP. This deal was a natural and organic move which takes us from a Joint Venture model to a partner-owned group entity, and ensures that the benefits of a group vision can be felt by our core brands. I am delighted to be able to welcome Connor to the group in his new role as CCO as he focusses on fuelling our contract growth and international footprint. Connor will remain the Global MD of Conexus and the business will continue to operate in the same way as has made it successful to now."

In completing the deal, Connor Wall added,

"When Dale and I started Conexus, I couldn’t have foreseen the challenges and opportunities that would present themselves while pursuing our lofty ambitions. This included the lows of a global lockdown in our first year of business, to the highs of being recognised globally as an entrepreneur of the year in 2024. Despite our relative infancy as a brand, we have achieved recognition on a vast scale and have been involved in some of the most exciting global scaling plans that our clients have ever faced. We specialise in placing permanent and contract digital transformation talent into markets including SAP, Salesforce, Data, Software & Cyber and our niche focus along with our robust service levels have positioned us for exponential growth as we continue on our mission of Connecting our Universe. The plan now is to apply Conexus' strengths to the wider group, and I am privileged to be trusted to lead the international growth plans for our Group while continuing to position Conexus as the No’1 agency for DX talent globally."

The Recolution Group and its shareholders were advised on the deal by dealmaking business GS Verde Group. Matt Sutton, Director said,

“GS Verde were pleased to advise the Recolution Group on this deal. We have enjoyed working with the business for several years and look forward to seeing the next phase of their growth following this transaction."

The Recolution Group's head office is based in Cardiff along with its 65 staff. They have offices in Barcelona and the Netherlands and have plans to open offices in Dubai and the US.

A role becomes vacant. You write the job description, agree the salary, start the search and look for someone who can do the job. It sounds straightforward. But what if the job you are hiring for today will look very different in two or three years? As businesses grow, markets shift, and technology changes how teams operate, hiring purely based on today's requirements can leave organisations playing catch-up. The better question is not simply "Who can do this job?" It is "What will this person need to help us achieve next?" Are you hiring for a role, or a future capability? A job description usually reflects what a business needs right now. That makes sense, but it can also create a narrow view of what the successful candidate needs to bring. Perhaps you need someone with a specific technical skill, a particular level of experience or knowledge of your sector. Those things matter. But so do the capabilities that will become increasingly important as the business develops. That could mean: Leadership capability as the team expands Digital or technological expertise as processes evolve Commercial thinking as markets become more competitive Adaptability as priorities change The ability to build and develop teams Experience of managing transformation or growth The strongest hires meet today’s needs and have the potential to grow with tomorrow’s business demands. What happens when you hire too narrowly? Hiring for the immediate requirement can work perfectly well for straightforward, stable roles. For more strategic positions, it can create problems. You may find yourself hiring again sooner than expected because the role has outgrown the person. Or you may appoint someone who is highly capable in their current position but lacks the skills, experience or ambition needed for the next stage of the business. Neither outcome is particularly efficient. The cost isn't just another recruitment process. There can also be lost productivity, disruption to the team, and delays to wider business plans. That is why recruitment should be considered alongside your growth strategy, not separately. What will your business need in three years? Before starting your next search, step back from the vacancy. Ask: Where is the business going? What capabilities will we need to get there? Will this role become more important, less important or fundamentally different? Could this person eventually lead a team, enter a new market or take responsibility for a wider function? These questions can change the profile you are looking for. You might decide that industry experience is less important than transformation experience. Or that technical expertise needs to be balanced with commercial leadership. Perhaps the right candidate is not the person who ticks every box today, but someone with the potential to grow with the organisation.

Career progression in recruitment isn’t always as fast-paced as the job itself. 94% of employees claim that would stay longer at a company that invests in their career development , yet many recruiters find themselves with limited access to structured training, unclear promotion pathways and insufficient leadership support. If you're no longer developing, struggling to see your next step, or feeling like your effort isn't being recognised, you're not alone. There are better options. From day one at the Recolution Group, our consultants are supported with an industry-leading development programme, clearly defined career pathways and a culture that rewards performance. Our four latest promotions show exactly what that looks like in action.

Is your recruitment agency really supporting you? The truth about recruiter wellbeing and what to look for in your next role. If you work in recruitment, you already know how rewarding it can be. But you'll also know how turbulent the high targets, fast turnarounds, emotional conversations and the unpredictability can feel if the right support isn't in place . You can go from landing a placement in the morning to a promising candidate prospect ghosting you in the afternoon. If your workplace doesn't have your back, it can quickly take a toll. That’s why mental health support in recruitment isn’t a 'nice-to-have'. It’s a must . It's just as important as finding the right roles for clients and candidates. P rioritising mental health in the workplace is essential to building a strong, supportive team. Business leaders and managers in recruitment have not only a crucial role to play, but an opportunity to shape a culture that helps people thrive. After all, people perform at their best when their workplace is supportive. You spend around 40 hours a week at work (often more in recruitment), so the culture around you has a huge impact on your overall psychological wellbeing. Working at one of the best recruitment companies should mean logging on every morning confident that the environment has been built with your health, happiness, and success in mind. Mental health is more than an annual campaign. We’ve designed the Recolution Group employee experience in a way that ensures our team feels valued, heard, and looked after every single day . Here’s how we do it: We provide free access to a qualified professional health and wellbeing service to all employees. Our flexible approach with full tech enablement to work from home allows our staff to choose their own approach to work-life balance, depending on what fits them. We have a boosted annual leave policy, so everyone can spend more time with the people they love. We have a cycle to work scheme set up to keep our minds and bodies healthy. We know that when our people are feeling their best, they do incredible things. And we’re committed to making that possible 365 days a year.
